Job Description
SEO & Content Copywriter
What this role actually is
This is not a task-ticking content role. You will own the written voice across client accounts from search strategy to final copy ensuring every word earns its place.
This role exists to own the content and SEO output for a portfolio of clients, not to wait for briefs, chase approvals, or execute instructions line by line.
You will work alongside channel specialists and report into a senior strategist, but your words, your strategy, and your publishing cadence are yours to manage. If you need constant direction to produce good work, this role will not suit you.
What you will own
- SEO Strategy and Keyword Ownership
- Build and manage keyword strategies aligned to client business goals
- Conduct ongoing research, gap analysis, and competitor content audits
- Identify what is not ranking and fix it — proactively, not when flagged
You will be given initial direction but are expected to evolve the strategy independently over time.
- Copywriting and Content Production
- Write high-quality long-form content, high intent blogs,listicle , comparison pages
- Adapt tone and style per brand without sacrificing clarity or conversion
- Ensure every piece is optimised for both search intent and human readers
Content should not require heavy editing before it goes out. Quality is your responsibility.
- Content Calendar and Publishing
- Own the content pipeline across accounts planning, briefing, and delivery
- Maintain publishing consistency without needing reminders
- Coordinate with design and technical SEO for seamless execution
- Performance and Iteration
- Track rankings, traffic, and engagement to measure content effectiveness
- Use data to prioritise what to write, update, or cut
- Drive continuous improvement through insight, not guesswork
You are responsible for progress, not just output.
- Client Communication on Content
- Translate content decisions into clear reasoning for clients
- Push back on off-strategy requests with evidence and alternatives
- Keep content aligned to the broader account strategy
Authority
- You are expected to:
- Make content and SEO decisions independently within your accounts
- Reject briefs that are off-strategy — internally or from clients
- Push back on keyword or topic requests that won't perform
- Major strategic shifts get aligned with the senior strategist/ CMO. Everything else is yours.

Compensation:
- Depending on your skills, ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 per month.
- Includes ₹5 lakh of insurance.
- Fully remote.
- Our team size is 40+, and we plan to scale it to 100 by this year.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals including search intent, keyword strategy, and on-page optimisation is mandatory
- Ability to write high-quality, conversion-focused content (blogs, landing pages, comparison pages, listicles)
- Genuine interest in content strategy, organic growth, and how users search and make decisions
- Comfortable owning end-to-end content workflows — from research and ideation to publishing
- Ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging based on brand and target audience
- Strong keyword research and competitor analysis skills
- Ability to identify ranking gaps and proactively suggest content opportunities
- Consistency in executing content calendars and meeting publishing deadlines
- Ability to analyse performance (traffic, rankings, conversions) and iterate based on data
- Comfortable working with SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, GA4)
- Strong attention to detail in writing, formatting, and on-page SEO elements
- Ability to align content with different stages of the buyer journey (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU)
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve content quality
- Self-driven mindset with high ownership of content outcomes, not just output
- Ability to communicate content strategy and push back on low-impact ideas with reasoning
- Understanding of conversion-driven content (not just traffic-focused writing)
- Freshers with strong writing skills and SEO knowledge are encouraged to apply
